First place Bell romps

 

 

 

Unbeaten Bell Construction rapped out 29 hits Friday night to stay atop the Cortland Men’s Slowpitch League A Division standings with a 23-5 romp over Red Dragon in a five-inning mercy rule softball game.
Stone Lounge was a 16-5 winner over Sideline Grill in another A Division contest, while in the B Division Red Jug Pub beat Will-Be-Done 10-2. In a late C Division report from Thursday, first-place 11 Old Saints downed K&B Plastics 19-5.
A DIVISION
Bell Construction 23, Red Dragon 5, 5 innings: Sean Babcock (three runs scored) and Eric McLaughlin (two runs scored) both went 4-for-4 to lead the Bell Construction (15-0) attack. Chad Parker (triple, three runs) and Casey Crandall (three runs) both went 4-for-5 while Al Ondrako had a 3-for-5 night with a double, triple and three runs.
Jose Feliciano went 2-for-2 and scored a run to lead the way for Red Dragon, which scored all five of its runs in the first to take a short-lived 5-2 lead.
Stone Lounge 16, Sideline Grill 5: Kyle Dahm went 4-for-5 with a double, two RBIs an a run for the winners, who totaled 22 hits in all. Nolan Milliman went 3-for-4 with three RBIs and two runs while Dustin Rainbow went 3-for-5 with an RBI and two runs. Chris Beebe, Phil Opera and Mike V. all tripled for Sideline Grill.
B DIVISION
Red Jug Pub 10, Will-Be-Done 2: Chris Twigg and Steve Bradley both went 2-for-3 while Corey Murray doubled twice for Red Jug Pub. Rick Stauber went 2-for-3 for Will-Be-Done.
C DIVISION
11 Old Saints 19, K&B Plastics 5: Greg Driscoll went 3-for-3 with two doubles for the winners while Josh Wright (two doubles, three RBIs), Tyler Lanning (triple), Mitch Gleason (double) and Anthony Lang all went 3-for-4. Justin Travis had a 3-for-4 night with a triple for K&B while Fred St. John went 2-for-3.
